Podcasting notes… September 14, 2006

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am absolutely addicted to podcasts.  I have quite a few that I listen to,and am discovering more each and every day.

Before I list them all, I told you in the first post that I would be discussing podcasts and magazines; but in this post, I want to encourage you to contact the makers of your favorite podcast and thank them for the work that they do.

I recently added myself to a frappr map; and the results were great!  For one podcast ShrinkRap Radio, the host, Dr. Dave included my name in the show.  Talk about recognition!!!  And in the other, I sent out an e mail answering questions that the Craft Borg asked after you “put a pin” on their frappr map, and I received a thank you from one of the hosts, Rosemary!  Cool, huh?

Podcasters are celebrities to me, because they do excellent work and teach new things with every new episode.  If you haven’t checked one out, do it today!  (And send in feedback-you never know what kind of response you’re going to get.)

Welcome to my obsessions…. September 11, 2006

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog/ website for the projects that I will be working on in the future.  This will be a place for me to host tutorials about certain crafts and discuss my problems and triumphs while working on crafty things in general.

I’ve been making crafts since my first piece of macaroni was glued to my first construction paper in kindergarten.  I was hooked.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve been creating different things for gifts and to enhance my decor.  I love to create something out of nothing, or several pe

At heart, I am a rubberstamp artist.  I don’t have a preferred stamping company, although I am a direct sales representative for a stamping company.  I love their products (or I wouldn’t sell them); but I’m interested in using various techniques and products throughout the whole range of the stamping universe.

Because this is the middle of September, and I am working on a bunch of Christmas presents, I will begin with some of them and move through the year as inspiration strikes me.

Besides stamping, I paint, alter things, collage, decoupage, am learning to knit and sew, bead, and anything else that catches my eye.  I will discuss rubberstamping uses in all of these types of projects…it seems that stamping creeps into all of my various ideas.  I will also discuss products that I like and use; and I will talk about different techniques that I’ve learned or taught myself over the years.
